Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered counseling style that helps individuals to explore and resolve ambivalence towards behavior change.
. At our rehab center, we integrate MI into our treatment plans to help clients who are struggling with addiction or mental health issues to increase their motivation and commitment towards recovery.
The goal of MI is to help clients resolve their ambivalence by exploring and enhancing their intrinsic motivation to change. It involves a collaborative and empathic approach, where the therapist helps the client to identify and explore their values and goals, and how their current behavior is impacting those goals. The therapist also supports the client in developing a plan for change that aligns with their values and goals.
In our rehab center, our trained therapists use MI techniques to engage clients in a non-confrontational and non-judgmental way. They help clients to identify their reasons for seeking treatment and explore the pros and cons of their current behavior. By enhancing the client's motivation and confidence in their ability to change, they help them to overcome their resistance to change and take action towards their recovery goals.
